Welcome to classic Berkshire living. This wonderful family home has a quiet country setting just minutes from the center of Great Barrington. Sprawling grounds, with indoor and outdoor spaces, have been thoughtfully created with ease and fun in mind. There are front and back porches and a large entryway with boot room closet to store all the gear a busy family needs. The eat-in galley “cook’s” kitchen is charming with high-end commercial grade appliances and plenty of gadgets to make a delicious meal. French doors lead out to the patio and back yard.
There are two living areas: one with a huge firplace and a queen sleeper sofa. This area has a tv with DVD player both. The other is a bit more formal and serves as a library and well. There is luxurious seating and an area for tv viewing with satellite tv. The ground floor hosts the master bath with queen bed, jetted tub, separate shower, fireplace, and lovely views of the yard.
Upstairs you have 3 more bedrooms: a spacious guest room with queen bed + two twin beds, a guest room with full bed, and a smaller playroom-type bedroom with a twin bunk bed.
Outside you have a swim pond, playhouse, hammock and lots of room to run. There are fun hedges and natural borders with mature trees and perennial gardens. A very majestic barn sits regally off to the side although, alas, it is only for show.
Rates – Offered from Sept 10, 2011: Fall rates are $5000/month or $2300/week. Weekend rates are $1800 for up to 4 nights.
Winter Ski 2012: $4500/month or $16,000 for the 4 months from Dec 1 – March 31. Heat utility cap will apply to ski season booking.
Summer 2012: $10,000/month or $27,000 MD – LD. Rates are all-inclusive.
