This is gorgeous Berkshire Mountain top living at its finest. The house sits on a heavenly spot with views for miles and is accessed on a 1/4 mile dirt road.The effect is peaceful and remote, and while you are in Beartown National Forest, you are definitely closer to the Great Barrington side and not deeply nestled into the forest.
Step inside and you enter into the foyer. You can see right away this is a home that has great attention to detail and has been constructed with great care. Just beyond the foyer is the dining room with a wall of glass to enjoy the not-to-miss views and a wood-burning fireplace. This room easily seats 8 guests and has an easily accessed wet bar adjacent. The kitchen is wonderfully arranged with high-end stainless appliances, double sink, 6 burner gas stove, large pantry, and booth seating for 4+. The kitchen also has a fireplace – How delightful! The kitchen opens on to a stunning 3 season screened porch with views of the hills, pastures, and horse barn and has direct access to the courtyard. The great room is open, with easy and comfortable seating around another massive stone fireplace.This room has a flat screen tv with satellite. The Great room opens onto a library which leads into a main floor guest area with Queen bed, full bathroom with tub and shower – all tiled and gleaming. This main floor guest area – wonderfully situated for an elderly couple – also has a sitting room with sink, electric tea kettle and drinks refrigerator. If you have a small child, your crib could easily be set up in here or the owners are happy to set up a vintage cot with a comfy mattress. This extra sleep space is quite suitable for a child.
Upstairs, are 3 more bedrooms! The master bedroom suite has fabulous features: the queen bedroom has its own fireplace and a Juliet balcony for morning coffee, star-gazing, or just taking in the fresh air and views. There is a luxurious soaking bath, separate wc, shower, and sink with vanity.Down the hall are two more guest bedrooms: one with a queen bed and the other is two twins that can be made up as a king or as two beds. These two bedrooms share a beautifully 1×3 subway-tiled bathroom with tub/shower combo. The linens are all excellent quality!
Outside there is a heavenly outdoor lounge and pergola with exquisite candle lanterns and seating for 8+. There is a large gas grill and easy access to the screened porch if the weather is inclement.
