This wonderful home, perched on a hillside, has so much to offer it is hard to know where to begin. The views of Hillsdale from the double decks are spectacular.
This is a wonderful family home with so much to offer the renter all year long! There is a swim pond with a dock for fishing – catch and release only please – or for catching a little sun, there are hiking trails, stunning views, and a lazy hammock for total relaxation. Children will enjoy exploring the little creek running alongside the property. The decks on two levels are both outfitted with Adirondack outdoor furniture, a table with umbrella, gas grill, and a section of the upper level porch screened-in for alfresco living enjoy the outdoors without pesky mosquitoes. There is also an outdoor shower on the ground floor – heaven! In winter explore acres of trails for hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or a sled run are just a step out the door.
Inside, on the upper level, and you will find an updated kitchen with high-end stainless steal appliances, oodles of cabinets, counter space, and cooking gadgets. The kitchen opens out to the dining room and family room with sliding doors that provide two walls of glass to take in the views. There is an easy seating arrangement with a flat-screened TV in the living room and the dining room seats 6. There is additional counter space with stools to enjoy a snack or a chat with whomever is cooking. The upper level has the master bedroom suite with a queen bed and a modest full bathroom with tub/shower combination.
The lower level ground floor has two more bedrooms: one with a queen bed and sliding doors that open out to the lower level deck and the other bedroom has a full futon bed and crib. These two bedrooms share another full bath with shower only. There is also an office /den with a full pullout sofa bed. This room could be used for an occasional guest or converted to an actual bedroom, if needed. There is a gallery sitting room with small home office station. This room also opens out to the lower level deck – which leads to all that the great outdoors has to offer. There is a basement area with laundry and a woodworking shop if you are so inclined. The outdoor shower is tucked in a protected nook on the ground floor level that still allows a view for miles!
The home is easily accessible to the Taconic Parkway making your drive up a breeze. For skiers you are only one mile from Ski Catamount. Summer renters can enjoy the sense of getting-away-from-it-all, but still be within a short drive to all the cultural events the Berkshires are known for: live theater, dance, wonderful shopping, restaurants, galleries. etc For swimming and hiking you need not ever leave the property!
Rates – Summer 2013: $8500 per month or $2400/week – full season for $22,500. Fall foliage weekends: $1200 for up to 3 nights + $100 cleaning fee or $1800/week. Winter Ski - less than one mile from Catamount! 2013-2014: $4000/month or full season $15,000 for December 1st through March 31th. Please inquire short-term and off season rates.
