This is wonderful modern family home, located in the picturesque and highly desirable ‘Castle Hill’ neighborhood in Great Barrington, provides an easy walk to the center of this charming town or to Lake Mansfield. This home is clean, bright, has an open floor plan and is very comfortable!
The ground floor has a highly functional kitchen with bar seating for 4 plus an additional dining area that will seat 4-6. The living room provides cozy seating with cable tv and a screen door which leads out to a grassy yard with outdoor seating and a grill. The laundry room has a fabulous upscale washer/dryer and just off the kitchen is a full bath with a tub/shower combination
Upstairs we have two large bedrooms: one with a king-sized bed and the other with twin bunk beds. These two rooms share the second bath also with a tub/shower. The lower level is nicely furnished as a den/tv room with queen pullout bed. This area is great for kids or an extra guest! Another terrific feature is the direct entryway from the garage into the house. The house has wifi, a pellet stove for cold nights, and there is good cell service available.
Great Barrington does not disappoint with its numerous restaurants, boutiques, galleries, cinema, theater, and farmer’s market. Nearby lake Mansfield is ideal for fishing, kayaking, (no motor boats allowed) or swimming with a sandy beach access – life guard on duty! Plus there are picnic tables and a playground. Ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing is all part of a gorgeous wintery scene here. Winter also brings skiers to Butternut (5 minutes) and Catamount (10 minutes) which are both terrific family ski/snowboarding resorts. Everyone who comes to the Berkshires for skiing wants to be close to Babalouie’s Pizza… Hilltop Chalet is an easy 8 minute walk or a quick 2 minute drive!
Because Great Barrington is so centrally located, cultural venues like Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, Berkshire Theater Festival, and Shakespeare and Company are all within an easy drive!
Summer 2013: $6000/month or $1800/week. Fall 2013 weekends are $1000 for up to 3 nights with $200 for an extra night, weekly rates are $1500. Winter – ski 2013-14: $3500/month, all-inclusive or $12,000 for Dec – March.
