This fabulous property is set in a natural wonderland environment ready to be discovered by visitors wanting to experience what the Berkshires are all about. Located within a half-mile of the historic village of South Egremont, and 5 minutes from downtown Great Barrington, the grounds feature roughly 30 acres of views, pathways, large fields, a labyrinth, tree swings, gardens, rock borders, a trampoline and heated pool with pool house! For certain weeks, the addition of a complete guesthouse makes this a prime opportunity for friends and family to gather and relax.
The newly updated kitchen is wonderfully appointed with plenty of counter space, and cupboards. The appliances are high-end stainless steel with a six-burner Viking stove and a double oven. A large farmhouse style table seats 6 – 8, with room at the granite counter for several more. The living room with cozy seating around a wood burning fireplace and built-in bookshelves opens to a large entry foyer with an additional seating area and a baby grand piano. The family room has a wood burning stove and large flat screen TV with DVD. There is no cable/satellite at this time. This property lends itself to enjoying the simpler, quieter elements of getting away from it all The master bedroom had a king bed and full bathroom with a shower. There are two more guest bedrooms: one with a queen bed and another with whimsical twin bunk beds. These two bedrooms share another full bath with tub/shower combo. Throughout the home are books, games, puzzles, and plenty of fun things to entertain both children and adults.
The pool house has a queen sized pullout bed and a ½ bath. This structure is within the gated area of the pool so young children would be advised to NOT be there on their own.
The outdoor space is both natural and beautifully maintained. Wander down lovely paths… sit and meditate on the gorgeous mountain vistas of Mount Everett and East Mountain, sit in a tree swing, or take a dip in the pool. There is a babbling brook in the woods and a green labyrinth in the field!
Summer rates for Main house + pool house – Available from August 1st – September 4th: $4500/week. Holiday/vacation periods may also be available during the year. Please inquire for off-season rates.
