This lovely home is so easy to enjoy with its manicured grounds, sprawling lawn, apple trees, gorgeous views, and access to the Williams River for kayaking, swimming, and fly fishing. The Williams River is one of the cleanest in Massachusetts, and is stocked with trout. In winter, you may snow shoe or cross country ski right from the sunny front porch. This porch has outdoor seating and wonderful views. There is also a private deck off the master bedroom – perfect for getting a little sun.
The main floor is host to the eat-in kitchen, dining room, living room, sun room, and the master bedroom suite. The kitchen is open, bright and cheery with new appliances and plenty of storage. this room has a cafe table that seats 4. The solid wooden dining room table will expand to comfortably seat up to 10 guests for entertaining. The sun room has gorgeous mountain views and a gas stove to keep you cozy on cold winter days. The front porch is not only welcoming but a wonderful place to play cards, or eat a meal al-fresco. It is wonderfully outfitted with a wicker chaise, sofa, table and chairs. The views from the porch are breath-taking! The master bedroom suite with king bed and full bathroom is located on the main floor. The bathroom has a tiled shower stall with a separate water closet. French doors open onto the sun porch – a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or to do yoga.
The ground floor level has two more large bedrooms which share another full bath are located below, on the ground floor level. One roomy bedroom has a queen bed. The other large sunny bedroom has two twins. There is a second full, usable kitchen on this level and can be used for cooking, BBQ grill prep, as well as an arts and crafts room for children. Outside you have the two decks – one off the master bedroom and the other on the front of the house – just off the kitchen for indoor-outdoor living. The gas grill is conveniently located just nearby! The large rolling lawn makes for ample romping and once past the lawn you walk through a fenced filed to access the river. There is seating nearby and one can take a refreshing dip, fish or tip their kayak in. Delightful!
This home is wonderfully located away from the fray but within an easy 5 minute drive to the center of Great Barrington. The Berkshires is known for its wonderful shopping, restaurants, galleries, live theater, hiking trails, swimming holes, and ski resorts. We pretty much have it all here and Great Barrington is central to all of these activities and more. Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow as well as many wonderful museums are all within a shirt drive through the most stunning roadways in the Northeast.
