Both homes have central AC, Wireless internet, and direct tv. NO Smoking and Pets are welcome guests of the Farmhouse (guest house) only.
Roughland Estate, with two fabulous homes and 30 acres acres offers a larger group traveling together ease and luxury will being easily accommodated! They are available short or long term; however, minimum rental fee do apply.
The Estate House, originally the 200+ year-old-barn, it is now an ultimate world class home available for your guests. There is so much to offer with this home: 6 bedrooms in all: A ground floor master with king bed, music room – upright piano, drum set and full bath with stone shower. The other 5 bedrooms on on the 3rd floor: grand master suite with king bed, sitting room with fireplace, full bathroom with ultra-lux soaking bath, shower with benches for 2+, bidet, star-gazing balcony… and movie star dressing room. The other bedrooms on this level have a full bed and two tins – these two bedrooms share a full bath with tub/shower. The last two bedrooms are Jack-n-Jill style both with queen beds, one with an additional queen futon and they share a fantasy bathroom with ice cream colored glass tiles and boats double sinks, a glass shower stall and soaking tub. There is a laundry room on this floor. The main floor has an enormously over-sized Boffi Kitchen with 3 sinks, 2 dishwashers, 6 burner gas stove, gas grill and much much more… the great room has a huge fireplace and setting for all your guests. The dining room has seating for 12 and a second table can easily be brought in to seat larger gatherings. There is a spacious media room with flat screen tv/dvd player and satellite tv. The sound system is wired throughout the house and will play your ipod or a fun assortment of cd’s – old school style! The true gem of the estate house is the yoga dance room with baby grand piano and wet bar. The dance room has direct access to the sunset porch with benches that face west. A cocktail with the sunset views will make you feel like you are on a cruise!
The Farmhouse is the guest house to Roughland estate but it is not missing any of the bells, whistles or charm. Separated by a long sweeping driveway and about 250 feet from the Estate hosue, the farmhouse is a gem onto itself. Surrounded by established perennial flower borders and a stone terrace off the kitchen, this lovely, maintained and updated home goes back over 200 years! We have outfitted this home for maximum sleeping capacity: The ground floor has a stately king master with sitting area, wood-burning fireplace and walk-in closet. This master bedroom has its own full bathroom with claw foot soaking tub and separate shower. There are two bunk beds, just off the kitchen and a cozy full bedroom in the library, alos on the main floor. Upstairs 4 other bedrooms are as follows: a full bed, a queen bed, another full bed and a cozy nook with a twin bed. These bedrooms share two full bathrooms: one with tub/shower and the other with a claw foot soaking tub only. The third floor hosts the story book attic – a most charming space! It has a full bed and twin. There is also a day bed that would easily sleep another child. This space is great for a couple with a small child or teenagers!
Outside, the grounds are simply wonderful. There is a pick and eat vegetable garden, orchard, apple trees, blueberries, and well established perennial beds. The pond is spring fed and glorious for swimming with its sandy beach access and stone quarry border effect. The Gazebo is fun for yoga, hanging out, ping-pong… it’s just fun! The outdoor shower located on the stone terrace of the gazebo has hot water. There is plenty of outdoor seating, a huge gas grill AND a fire pit. Just nearby the willow tree is a fun trampoline for kids of all ages and across the way is a horse shoe pit and field for games. The side yard features a full size tee-pee for seasonal use and there are lovely wooded walking trails… It is heaven!

Rates: Summer 2012: $13,000/week or $10,500 for up to 4 nights – one week minimum booking from July 1st – Labor day. Winter: $12,000/week or $30,000/month. Off season – late fall and early spring: $11,000/week or $10,000 for up to 4 nights. Homes may be rented separately only during off-season or last minute per avail: Estate house is $9000 for up to 4 nights and Farmhouse is $3000 for up to 4 nights.
