Built in 1825, Silvernail Farm sits on five acres and is perfect for a family with children, or small groups traveling together. The gorgeous sweeping views from the back yard and kitchen window are breathtaking. When enjoying a meal or drink, “al fresco” in the outdoor arbor, surrounded by wisteria, clematis, Moroccan hanging lanterns, and a gorgeous mountain view, one might think themselves in Tuscany! There is an ample yard for running plus a child’s climber, swing-set and sandbox.
This three bedroom home has a master suite with a Queen-sized bed and its own full bath with tub/shower combination. There are two other guest rooms each with two sets of twin beds. The two guest rooms share a second bathroom also with a tub/shower combination. Both bathrooms have good storage and are well maintained. All sheets and towels are all luxurious, high thread-count 100% cotton, and the beds all have fluffy down comforters.
The ground floor has a tv/den with a full sized daybed and another full sofa-bed pull-out for more sleeping space. A third bathroom is located on the ground floor and has a shower, located just off the spacious laundry room. The eat-in kitchen with breakfast nook is well-equipped with high-end appliances and gadgets you might need to make an elaborate meal. There is fantastic kitchen storage and prep areas and the views from the kitchen window – of rolling hills, changing fall color, drifting snow, or your children frolicking and playing tag in the large protected yard. The dining room, with a wood-burning fireplace, has seating for ten.
There are toys, games, and books for visiting children. The Berkshires is known for its wonderful shopping, restaurants, galleries, live theater, hiking trails, swimming holes, and ski resorts.
Situated in the heart of the glorious Berkshire Mountains, the lovely home is New England charm at its best. Located within minutes of Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Company, Jacob’s Pillow, BTF, shopping, festivals, fine dining, summer camps, and countless other Berkshire attractions, this home is your best bet for a getaway. Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow as well as many wonderful museums are all within a shirt drive through the most stunning roadways in the Northeast. This home provides a wide array of cultural recommendations as well as a thorough home-information packet.
Rate Information: Summer 2013: $7500/Month, $2000/week. Please inquire for off season or longer term information. Winter ski rates 2013-2014: $3500/month, Ski season Special: Dec – March for 12,000. A $125 final cleaning fee is added to all bookings of a week or shorter or groups of 6 or more.
