Conveniently located in the desirable Castle Hill neighborhood in Great Barrington, the house is within walking distance to town and the local Farmer’s Market. The bright kitchen is stocked with every gadget you might need to prepare a delicious meal inside or out. There are two gas grills – one on the front porch, easily accessible to the kitchen and one at the pool house. The living room, which opens to the dining room, kitchen and large entry foyer, has a wood-burning fireplace, comfy furniture, and easy access to the front porches and grill. The large dining room table comfortably seats 12 guests. Just off the dining room there is an expansive Craftsman-style great room with large skylights and sectional couches that make this room a great place to relax in. The great room has cable television/DVD, a stereo system, iPod dock, and an upright piano. Within the great room is a large master bedroom with a queen size bed, closets, and a full bath with tub and shower. The great room can be closed off to make a private master suite. Two separate entrances – one with French doors – lead you out to the back deck with outdoor dining table with an umbrella and an 8-person hot tub (seasonal-use only).
The second floor houses the grand master king bedroom suite with luxurious tub and separate shower. The master suite has a stereo system all it’s own, writing/laptop desk, cozy sitting area with a pellet stove, and more skylights. Adjoining the master suite there is a private TV room with cable television/DVD, and a full-size couch. There are two more guest bedrooms on the second floor: one with a full bed and another with a twin – each with its own full bathroom. An upstairs office, with beautiful bay windows, easily converts to an additional bedroom with an inflatable bed or crib. You will find a house well-stocked with books, games, puzzles, a satisfying collection of CDs and DVDs, and plenty of fun things to keep children and adults entertained.
The backyard is an unexpected 1.5 acres of play space and beautifully maintained gardens that are home to a children’s play set with swings and a slide, a sandbox, a climbing structure, and a one-of-a-kind play-house. Enjoy the organic vegetable garden – just pick and eat! The oversized (20×50) in-ground gunite pool has a “gentle on the eyes” salt water chlorinator and heating system. An expansive granite patio, perennial gardens, and a luxurious green lawn surround the pool. On the deck you’ll find an outdoor dining table with umbrella and chairs as well as an array of chaise lounges. The stunning pool house has outdoor musical speakers, plenty of towels, pool toys, an outdoor shower, and a gas grill. In the pool house, you’ll find a separate changing room, and a separate bathroom with a sink and a mini-fridge. The pool area continues to delight in the evening with lighting at the pool house and in the pool. Relax under the shade of the pool house on the roomy mahogany bench with a ceiling fan just above. Here you can take in the stunning mountain and garden views that surround the pool. Behind the pool, you’ll find berry brambles ripe for the picking.
