Built in 1903, this updated and yet stunning example of Victorian craftsmanship is a perfect place for a family and friends looking to find an easy getaway in the Berkshires. With several outdoor features such as a covered front porch with outdoor seating, screened-in supper porch, and back deck with views and access to the fenced-in yard, this home offers wonderful possibilities. The neighborhood is a throw back to an easier time where children actually climb trees and ride their bikes in the street. An easy 5 minute walk will find you in the center of downtown Great Barrington for a meal, shopping, shows, cinema, galleries and much more. This home is also an easy walk (or 1 minute drive) to Lake Mansfield Park for swimming (sandy beach with lifeguard on duty!) picnicking, or having fun on the climber/swing sets. No motorboats allowed but canoes/kayaks are available for rent in town or bring your own!
The house is well appointed on the ground floor level with a family room, parlor, large eat-in kitchen (at the counter seats 4), separate dining room area with seating for 8, ½ bath, and large pantry/laundry room. The second floor has 3 bedrooms: the master suite with king bed and full bathroom with jetted tub/shower combination, the second large bedroom also has a king bed and shares a full bathroom – shower only – and a thrid smaller bedroom with a queen bed. Up on the 3nd floor is another cozy bedroom with a full bed and the 5th bedroom is also a delightful playroom – with twin bed and full futon. The living room and parlor comfortably seats 11 guests. There are inviting touched throughout the house with lovely artwork, books, games, puzzles and toys to entertain both children and adults! The Kitchen is well equipped with high-end stainless appliances and good cook wear.
Available: Summer 2010 for $2300/week or $8000/month. The rate is all-inclusive. All holiday periods are booked at peak rates. Winter rates are $4500/month and full ski season special offered for $16,000 for Dec – March. Some weekends are available off-season. Please inquire for off-season rates or long-term availability.
